Client: The International Dance Company

Project Type: Corporate Identity Design

The International Dance Company (IDC) provides dance lesson in several styles including but not limited to Latin dancing, contemporary dancing, ball room and hip hop dancing. In addition, they provide corporate clients with dancers for corporate events, gala dinners, ceremonies and other events.

Therefore, their logo needed to reflect diversity in dancing styles with the fun and social elements of dancing.

The above image is the final logo design approved by the client, but below you can find some of the earlier logo concepts created for them.


IDC Logo Concept 1:

The Logo

The IDC initials are in snow white wrapped in shades of baby blue, with paint and drawings coming out of the logo to give it a young and vibrant feel. There is also a silhouette of a couple dancing a classical dance to indicate both the new (the logo) and old (the silhouette) dance styles and mentalities. To finish it off, the full text of “The international Dance Company” is in a modern font with dark gray and blue colors.

The Colors

The white and blue work very well with each other, The logo also have a number of fresh colors coming out of it like olive green, fresh orange. All vibrant colors that stand out well and work well together.

The Message

The impressions you get from the logo are Young, Vibrant, Full of Energy, Funky, Mixing the new with the traditional, Active. The logo is aimed at the young and the young at heart, the key demographic for IDC.


IDC Logo Concept 2:

The Logo

The IDC initials are drawn in fresh orange with embedded silhouettes of dancers dancing inside in and on the logo. The dancers are performing different styles of music which translates into the variety of styles offered. There are circles coming out of the logo that look like bubbles, which immediately makes you think of fuzzy and energizing drinks, this idea is reinforced with the tag line “energize your body and soul”. “The International Dance Company” is written with a much funkier and more energetic font to translate the whole message of the logo.

The Colors

Again, we see a number of fresh, young, vibrant colors being used in the logo. Orange, gray, red and green colors make a beautiful combination that will catch your eye from a distance.

The Message

The impressions you get from the logo are Young, Vibrant, Full of Energy, Active, Diverse dance styles. The logo is aimed at the young and the young at heart, the key demographic for IDC.


IDC Logo Concept 3:

The Logo

When you look at this logo, it’s like being in a party! You see people dancing and having fun, you immediately want to be one of these people. In this concept, we used “The International Dance Company” with the dancers around it to form a sort of a pyramid, a climax of some sort, which is what a person would feel when taking classes with IDC. The initials were dropped in this concept, as they did not fit well with the overall design, they crowded the place and we felt it looked better with them.

The Colors

As with the previous two concepts, a number of colors are used in this design, red, white, black and orange all work together to form this fun and funky logo. They stand out in a crowd and will definitely make heads turn.

The Message

FUN, FUN and more FUN! Just looking at this logo makes you want to move. It is young, social, active and vibrant. Which are key messages you want to communicate to your audience.
